Assembly Line -
qualified according to
VG 96912-JN 1003-PAN 6433-2-Pr EN 3372
This series is derived
from MIL-C-38999 series 1 and 2 and incorporates lightweight, scoop proof
and high contact density features.
The design, performance
and mechanical robustness of this product meet the requirements of following
applications:
- military, aerospace
- ballistic missiles
and weapon systems,
- marine equipment.
8 ST connector features
include:
- a very high contact
density,
- MIL-C-38999 series
1 contact layouts,
- the male contacts
are recessed into the body to prevent damage by mismating (100% scoop-proof)
- keyway orientation
- RFI-EMI shielding
and shell-to-shell continuity
- receptable fixings
and backshells as per pattern 602 and MIL-C-26482 series 2.
The plug, receptable
bodies, and backshells, are manufactured from aluminium alloy and protected
by cadmium or nickel plating. The shells are locked together by a bayonet
coupling mechanism. Gold-plated crimp or straight spill contact are extracted
from connector rear and are retained in the insulator by a metal clip.

Line - QPL listed MIL-C-38999/III
The 8 D connector
is in accordance with the MIL-C-38999 series III and Pr EN 3645 standard.
Offered in aluminium or composite shell material, this familiy gives:
- a high contact
density up to 128 cts (#22D, 20, 16, 12 and 8 in 9 shell sizes),
- a quick screw
coupling with self locking mechanism,
- 100% scoop proof
offering polarising options by angular positioning of keys,
- EMI enhanced protection
by shielding ring and shell to shell bottoming.
Moreover, 8 D composite
connector reaches high performances in terms of:
- resistance to salt
spray: (> 2000 hours of salt spray)
- endurance: (>
1500 cycles, mating/unmating).
Its choice is recommended
wherever weight is critical (typically - 25% versus aluminium version)
or in particularly severe climatic and mechanical environments.
8 D family has applications
in :
- aeronautics and
military,
- marine, offshore,
- industrial,
and all instances
where superior quality connectors are required.
